Torah Tots

We hold a regular monthly Shabbat service for the under fives and their families. We have a really thriving community of families who regularly attend and ALL members of the community (whatever age) are welcome to come and join us. We often have more than 20 young ones attending (plus their parents/grand parents/ friends etc).

We meet on the second Saturday of the month and start at 10am. The service is very relaxed and welcoming and lots of fun. We enjoy singing, music with percussion instruments and stories. Children open the ark, undress the torah and become familiar with the synagogue. We always end with a yummy Kiddush, which we take turns in providing. We are soon to pilot having a joint Kiddush with the main congregation after our Torah Tots service and before the main service begins, to allow for everyone to mingle and get to know each other.

We also hold Torah Tots services on the High Holydays for the under- fives, on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mornings.

All families with young children are invited to come along, and we welcome non-members. It’s a great introduction to Judaism and to the synagogue community - for the adults as well as the children.
