1.  What is the Rites & Practices Committee?

This Committee essentially looks after the religous aspect of the community and has two primary roles:

(i)To advise the Council and Congregtation on matters of religious practice

(ii)To organise and maintain the religious practices of the Congregation

2.What else does R & P do?

R & P seeks to involve the whole community in Services and Festival Celebrations. We are exceedingly fortunate in having many learned synagogue members able to lead services and to teach Bar/Batmitzvah portions to our children.

3. We also wish to aid members mark the important moments in their lives

Such as birthdays, b'nei mitzvah, anniversaries, wedding anniversaries and even yahrzeits by offering mitzvot to honour those events.

4. How many people serve on  R & P?

Currently, there are nine committee members. We strive to ensure that the interests of the Congregation are represented from the observant to the more liberal, the young and the old, families and single people.

If you would like to find out more about joining the R & P Committee,

please e-mail our current Chair
